The CAIS exam spans 9 domains: Soil-Plant-Water Relationships (15% of the exam); Irrigation Methods (10% of the exam); Basic Hydraulics (5% of the exam); Efficiency and Uniformity (14% of the exam); Irrigation Scheduling (20% of the exam); Water Quality, Salinity and Drainage (8% of the exam); Climate Monitoring and Control (5% of the exam); Chemigation (8% of the exam); Irrigation Management (15% of the exam). Every practice question on this site is tagged to one of these domains.

The domains are not weighted equally on the exam. By share of the marks: Irrigation Scheduling 20%; Soil-Plant-Water Relationships 15%; Irrigation Management 15%; Efficiency and Uniformity 14%; Irrigation Methods 10%; Water Quality, Salinity and Drainage 8%; Chemigation 8%; Basic Hydraulics 5%; Climate Monitoring and Control 5%.
